What never goes out? 

1. The 3-5-7 Rule:  Arrange groups in odd numbers like pillows or decor on a coffee table or console, bench or sideboard. Vases and bottles on a sideboard, cutting boards against a backsplash, pillows on a bed or a sofa and more. Even numbers can look flat but uneven numbers add a feeling of symmetry without actually being symmetric! And the added comfort of being able to move your pillows or decor around to get that “just right” feel. 

2. White Trim: I see so many homes from 5-10 years ago with beige/off-white trim and I just want to grab them and slap some white on it. It can be very in style to do a color in trim, but it’s temporary. It will be good for a few years, but one thing that never goes out is the clean, light feeling of white trim. If you’re going for timeless, choose white!

3. Natural Materials: Cottons, Wools, Leathers, Jute, Sisal and Linens are always the best! They feel great and look great, creating a look that’s just right while keeping your space fresh and natural. Some even get softer with washing! For jute and sisal I love recommending, adding a second natural fiber like cotton wool or leather to keep the jute from shedding so much. But if you’ve got a robo vac or love to vacuum, go for straight jute. It’s Gorgeous either way! 

4. Hardwood Floors - If you have hardwood floors don’t get rid of them and don’t cover them. They never go out of style and everyone’s jealous of you! No matter what color, if it’s real hardwood, we can work with that! Greys, Sand, Mid-Brown, Dark Brown, Black, they all come and go, and while refinishing can be a pain. It is well worth it, and in my opinion, if you choose a mid-warm-brown, you’ll be good for ages! 

5. Sheer White Curtains - they’ve been around for decades and though materials and top arrangements change a classic pair of sheer white curtains can soften a space, brighten it up, add some privacy, and improve acoustics! If you’re ever unsure about what to get for your windows, go with white sheers, you can’t go wrong. 

6. Bistro Chairs - This classic style dates back to whether in metal or wood, or even rattan; if it’s a simple patterned back, bistro chairs are always in style and a great addition to your Dining Room or Breakfast Nook! In shades of brown, sand, black and white, and blue, it all works. 

7. Plantation Shutters - Whether you’re into Contemporary, Farmhouse, Transitional, Bohemian or other styles, Plantation Shutters never go out of style. They add sophistication to windows and a very defined ability to control light! Their beauty is in their simplicity, and I will always recommend that you match the trim and ideally do white!

8. Light Beige Paint - Your walls look like an amazing backdrop with light beige paint.  Ready for any style, any artwork and any decor. It’s less drastic than white and less divisive than gray, and it may seem like it’s out in favor of other neutrals, don’t worry, it’ll still look great and it will be back in less years than you can count on your hand! Timeless.

9. Greenery - Real or fake greenery lights up a room and makes it feel welcoming. Casia Home wants You to Feel Embraced by Your Home and greenery will do just that. This is one of my favorite things because it can be overdone or underdone, but as long as there’s a little, it’s an inviting Home. AND if you’re into real plants, and you have a green thumb, you get the added benefit of carbon dioxide filtration! There are plants for everyone, even pet owners.

10. Large showers - No matter what, it will always be desirable to be able to turn around in your shower, even better with your arms out. To step away from the shower head to get a good lather on your shampoo, to sit on a bench and shave your legs, and to not feel like you’re constantly standing on the drain. These things and more are so important to a great shower experience and since we all need to be clean, why not make it big?
